EHR cost and switching calculator

EHR cost includes subscription fees and the setup, data migration, interfaces and exit costs your practice needs. The Health IT Playbook says its Vendor Pricing Template defines line-item costs for EHR software, implementation, training and support. Compare the recorded coverage for 18 vendors, adding your own quotes where prices are missing.

Compare what an EHR would cost your practice. Start with the basics; add quotes when you have them.

Costs use recorded vendor prices and your figures; missing amounts stay missing, vendor payments do not affect the answer, and nothing is ranked.

Your quotes

Quotes replace missing costs and starting prices. Ordinary starting prices keep their published minimum; a quote for a limited scope can be lower. Fixed published prices stay fixed.

Questions owners ask

Why isn't there a complete total?

Setup, data migration or export may have no published price. The answer names those gaps. Training is excluded until you add your figure; it does not block the total.

What does "Starting at" mean?

The vendor gives a minimum, without a ceiling. Some prices cover only part of the work. For example, AdvancedMD migration excludes financial history and prices clinical data separately; RXNT does not describe clinical-record migration.

Can I use my own quote?

Yes, for missing costs or starting prices. Ordinary starting prices keep their minimum. A quote for a price that covers only part of the work can be any nonnegative amount. Fixed published prices stay fixed.

How does this compare with my current bill?

Your monthly bill is held flat over the period you choose. Switching includes the new setup and data move, plus export, any money left on your current contract and any months running both systems. Training is included only when you enter a figure. Neither option includes taxes.

Does this tell me which EHR is best?

No. It compares costs, without ranking vendors. Check specialty fit, workflows and what each plan includes before choosing. A plan outside its stated practice-size range is not priced for your practice.
